Welcome to the website of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya bears the sacred name of Sri Ramakrishna and is run by the esteemed organization Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, which was founded by Swami Vivekananda himself with the objective - "one’s own salvation and for the welfare of the world". Vivekananda’s concept of ‘Man making and character building education’ is our guiding light. In Tripura our Vidyalaya has been carrying a uniform track record of quality education with high moral values for twenty five years.

The twelfth President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Revered Sreemat Swami Bhuteshanandaji Maharaj laid the foundation stone of this educational complex on 29^th May, 1989 at Viveknagar under West Tripura district to foster amity and co-operation between the tribal and non-tribal people of Tripura. On 11^th September 1990, Revered Sreemat Swami Gahananandaji Maharaj, the then General Secretary of  Ramakrishna Math and Mission inaugurated this unique educational complex in presence of the then Governor of Tripura Sri K.V. Raghunath Reddy and the former Chief Minister Sri Sudhir Ranjan Majumder. The Foundation Day i.e. 11^th September is very significant as on the very day in 1893 Swami Vivekananda delivered his famous address in the World’s Parliament of Religions at Chicago.

The complex offers a panoramic view spanning over 61 acres of 90% green land just 9 km away from Agartala city.

The Vidyalaya started its journey with 100 students, 4 enthusiastic teachers and 4 office staff under the stewardship of Swami Shantidanandaji Maharaj as Secretary and Swami Shukadevanandaji Maharaj as Principal. Later on the school was benefited by innovative and dynamic guidance of some monastic members and dedicated teaching as well as non-teaching staff. The school has successfully completed its twenty five years of dedicated service. At present there are 847 students in 25 different sections of Classes III to XII, 51 teaching staff including two honorary monastic members and 14 non-teaching staff. The school strives to develop its students as responsible citizens of India.

“By 2022, while our nation approaches the 75^th years after Independence, the School aims to produce more active, involved, expressive students with high moral values and dedication for the nation. The students will be facilitated with more digital classrooms along with student friendly teaching-learning atmosphere. We will move one step forward to make the School campus more clean and green.”
